Rachel Whiteread - 'Hollyhock Seeds' 2012
Inspired by local hollyhock seeds gathered from Arnold Circus, this playful image is rich in subtle variations, a merging of colour and texture. This translates beautifully through the process of silk screen, and the use of a textured paper, results in this gem of a work.

Published in an edition of 125

‘Hollyhock Seeds’ Fundraising Project
During the summer of 2012 a forest of majestic hollyhocks thrived in the gardens of Arnold Circus. They were the inspiration for inviting internationally acclaimed and local artist Rachel Whiteread, to create the ‘Hollyhock Seeds’ print, which will also be incorporated in the design of seed packets available next spring.
100% of the profit from this print goes to the Friends of Arnold Circus

Registered charity no. 1114726
The Friends of Arnold Circus is a registered charity formed in 2004, through local voluntary action, to support the sensitive regeneration of the historic bandstand and gardens at the heart of Arnold Circus. FOAC are responsible for the upkeep of the gardens and have rescued them from disrepair over the last few years through imaginative fundraising, creating a rich resource to be enjoyed by all.
With great thanks to: Leila’s Shop for generously hosting the print launch, Alice Herrick - Hollyhock Seeds Project Director, and especially to FOAC's award winning head gardner Andrew Willoughby & Jean Locker (FOAC Trustee) for carefully collecting thousands of hollyhock seeds.
